On September 16th, 2018 the first interest meeting for Troop 201 was attended by six Scouts. It would be five months before the Troop was officially chartered. Through the rest of the fall, Troop members attended events with Crew 37 like Scouting for Food, Gold Rush, and Snow Camping to experience what Scouts is all about. In November, the first Troop schedule was created and the red and black color scheme of our Troop was picked. On the day of launch, Troop 201 had fifteen members, mostly recruited by word of mouth. Our unit number was picked and voted on by the youth members of the Troop and represents February 1st, the day of Scouts BSA’s historic launch.
